Easy Craft Idea for Kids – How to Make Play-Dough
Are you looking for a craft idea for kids that's not only fun for them, but easy for you, a busy parent, to put together? Try making homemade play-dough with your kids. It's so easy and simple you don't even need a craft kit to put it together and it's great for kids of all ages. You may not even have to make a special trip to the store to purchase the ingredients – it uses only 3 ingredients and they are all common in anyone's kitchen. Not only will the process of making the play-dough provide fun for the kids and bonding time with the parent, but the resulting product will provide hours of creative play time for them as well.
If you search for play-dough recipes online, you'll find many that require cooking. This recipe is great for kids because it doesn't require any cooking (making it safe) and it only takes about 10-15 minutes to create, so they can enjoy being part of the entire process of creation. Another great thing about this easy and fun craft for kids is that the ingredients are inexpensive and will make many batches of play-dough which keeps you from having to go back to the store when they want to make it again.
You are sure to create many memories with this craft because it's not only enjoyable for the kids, but for the parents as well. I remember very well making play-dough with my mom growing up and spending the rest of the day molding bowls, bird nests, and animals with it. Being able to create my own play-dough is part of what made it so special and fun.
Homemade Play-Dough
Materials:
½ cup salt
½ cup water
1 cup flour
food dye (any color)
newspaper to cover your work surface
Find a suitable workspace and cover it with newspaper to help prevent messes. Find a medium bowl to mix the ingredients.
Pour 1 cup of flour in the bowl, followed by ½ cup of salt, and lastly ½ cup of water.
Using a spoon (or your hands), mix the ingredients in the bowl until they are mushy (and no longer floury or watery). If you find the mixture too sticky, sprinkle in a little extra flour (and vice-versa if it's too dry - add water).
Using any color of food dye desired, add a few drops to the bowl. Knead the dough until the color spreads throughout. This part is fun for kids because all they really need to do is play with it to get the color to spread.
This craft is so easy to make and uses so few and inexpensive ingredients, it's great not only for parents, but for any adults that need a craft to keep kids occupied. You can use it in Sunday School or Preschool because it's great for boys and girls alike.
Although the play-dough is now made, the fun isn't over – the kids get to tap into their imaginations and creativity by playing with it and molding whatever their minds desire.

What is the name of this craft?
Last year, I went to a craft fair-type thing and bought a craft kit. It included fabric and a piece of foam and a knife thing. The foam had a bunch of lines, and you would tuck the fabric into certain lines following a pattern. Does anyone know what that type of craft is called? And if there are any websites where i could order some more kits? I really want to make them and give them to people for christmas!
Thank you soooo much!

But what does it make in the end? Is it a wreath shape? Can you do something with it? Describe what it looks like when it's completed...
