No matter what teaching style you prefer or how long you want your child to be in preschool each day, there is a preschool in Fremont to suit your needs. Learn and Play Montessori School
The Montessori method of education is based on free choice and an environment filled with different learning activities. The Learn and Play Montessori School has specially trained Montessori teachers who know everything there is to know about this unique method of teaching and learning. One interesting thing about traditional Montessori schools is that they blend age groups, rather than separating them into many groups as most preschools do. This allows older children to act as models for younger children, ingraining their own learning while they help the little ones learn new things.
Maria Montessori believed that the first three years of childhood development were essential and that a child's foundational learning mainly took place before the child was even Kindergarten age. Because of this, Montessori teachers at this school work with children ages two to six, and they focus on developmental learning for every age.
This school offers morning, full day, extended day, and after school programs so your child can learn in this school no matter what your schedule. Whether you're looking for a full-time preschool while you're in work or a part-time experience for your child to socialize and begin early learning in a school environment, this preschool most likely has a program that will suit your schedule.
FasTrac Kids Preschool
This Fremont preschool is an interesting one in that it's part of an international preschool franchise. That may sound a little strange, but it actually works well. Like the Montessori schools, FasTrac schools follow their own innovative curriculum, one that's very heavily based in the latest technology. Studies have shown that students who learn in the technology-rich, center-based environment that FasTrac provides pick up language and other vital skills more quickly than their peers.
This is another flexible preschool that can be helpful with your schedule. The program is for students six months to eight years old, and you can opt for half days, full days, part time and full time. One thing that's interesting about this preschool is that it regularly hosts open house nights so you can check out the FasTrac method before you decide to enroll your child.
Another interesting thing about this preschool is that it offers weekly sign language classes for parents with children six months to two years. These classes can help you communicate with your child before they're able to talk, and they can also help children build a larger vocabulary more quickly.
Rainbow Kids Preschool
This preschool doesn't subscribe to any particular method of preschool teaching, but it strives to provide children with high-quality early education that focuses on arts and crafts, sports, and getting along with peers. One thing about this preschool that parents love is its low turnover rates. Traditional early childhood education is a field where people rapidly move from one job to the next. At Rainbow Kids Preschool, though, most of the staff members have been around for at least ten years, if not more. This gives your kids some continuity and a sense of community.
This preschool offers several different schedule options, from half day to full day, and after care is available, as well. The schedule each day rotates between free play and activities that might include cooking projects, songs, tumbling, and reading readiness.

How many days a week and hours per day is appropriate for a 3 year old in a Montessori preschool?
Every montessori school I talk to really believe my son needs to be in a Montessori program from 9-2 or 3pm m-f.
Is this to much?
Two points already made that I will stress:
1 If you do not want a full-time program for your child, make sure none of the children are interrupted, including your own child's disruption; and
2 There should be a 3-hour work period for Montessori preschool children every day.
That said, you still have options. With the Montessori preschool, if it is truly Montessori, it will depend on the communion of the students as well. Students work with each other as a normal way of learning in the classroom. A 5-year-old may be "teaching" a 3-year-old in the Montessori classroom, and all ages work and play together, and so learn to get along with all types of people. For this reason, I would look into having him attend everyday for a truly Montessori experience. Of course, there are other non-Montesori ways of "socialising" outside their classroom.
Now if you do not have the materials required at home (if you wanted to do part-time homeschooling, say), the 3-hour work period should be attended as well. This should be consistently daily as well. Sometimes, Montessori schools keep this period for afternoon, but some may split it into 2 work periods of 1 1/2 hours each. You should ask the schools specifically about this. Compared to a home setting, you would have about 1/2 hour for a first presentation of a lesson, allow up to another 1/2 hour for "discovery" for the child, and the 3 hours of work is additional (that's how the 4-hour day comes to be). Whatever other time they spend in school is taken up with things like circle time, playground time, lunch, getting settled/organised and such. You mite be surprised of the time-wasting that happens in schools today!
