It is difficult to get sleep in hot night but this becomes more difficult if you don't have the right bed covers. Due to this you can lose lot of night rest. This science does not stop here you have choose that fabric which is more comfortable and have long durability. In market there are many different fabrics available to choose from. Always cotton is the best choice for the most of peoples as extremely comfortable and hard wearing fabric. If you need to cut down the price then polyester cotton blends will probably be the right option.
After cotton there are other choices like flannel, polyester and satin. Let me first discus snug flannel sheets as everyone love these when they were kids. A flannel is soft fabric and gives kids a soft and comfortable feeling. Flannel is very light fabric which was originally made from carded wool and worsted yarn, but now often made from wool and cotton, or wool and synthetic fibre. Flannel is mainly used for bed sheets and sleepwear. The flannel made from wool and cotton is very soft and fluffy, which is best for bed sheets and sleepwear. But the second type of flannel made from wool and synthetic fibre does not match the comfort of first one. In North America flannelette is normally called flannel or cotton flannel but in UK it is illegal to sell flannelettes under the name of flannel.
Now let us see the third fabric for bedding which is polyester. First let me clear one thing that polyester is not suitable for peoples with sensitive skin. However, there is a new type of polyester available which is great for those peoples who suffer with allergies. The main advantages of polyester and cotton blends are easy to take care of like wash and wear. There are some other advantages of polyester like wrinkle resistance, durability, high color retention.
Last but not the least satin is a weave that typically has a glossy surface. The luxury satin bed sheets make anyone feel like a film star. Satin has glossy surface on one side and dull on other side. This fabric can be woven from various fabrics like polyester or nylon for the less expensive blends. Similarly woven with silk can be more luxurious and expensive.

how much 44" fabric do I need for a set of twin sheets?
I already have 5 yards of 44" gorgeous flannel, and want to order more of the same so I can make a set of bedsheets (fitted + flat sheet). It's for a 39"X75" twin bed.
Some things are not worth the effort to sew and the finished product can be disappointing, keep this in mind, decide if you really want to do this project. Don't mean to throw cold water on your enthusiasm but finding some flannel sheets premade is a heck of a lot easier! You will have to piece the fabric and who wants seams in their sheets? 44" wide fabric is not wide enough so you will have to piece a strip. It may take about 8 yards to make both altogether. Using 3 strips about 2 3/4 yds. long. Use 2 strips as they are and the third one to piece to the other two. I can't imagine trying to sew the elastic for the fitted sheet, but good luck to you if you try. Instead of making sheets, you might find more success in using your adorable flannel to make a nice comforter/quilt and they aren't hard to make.
