- poor emphatic skills (children with autism experience difficulties in relating with other people; they also can’t express their compassion or understanding to people in distress).

Is it possible to teach someone with severe Autism/or mental disability algebra?
The reason why I ask is because the program I volunteer to help others in have an ability to understand me when I say " mystery number. "
If x + 1 = 2, what is x? I ask them. I just tell them that x is a mystery number. They understand that 1 + 1 = 2 but everytime I ask them what is x they get confused. They still get that x is a mystery number
